Do you wish the Miami Heat traded for a pick? If so, who did you want them to select?

Tachauer: At the risk of having the entirety of Heat Nation turn against me, I’m actually really glad the front office sat this one out. I was nervous going into today, especially as the rumor mill continuously picked up as the draft got closer and closer. But now I’m breathing a sigh of relief. I would have been okay with Miami using cash considerations and/or future picks to add a guy, but I hated the idea of moving someone like Justise Winslow. To me, the team already has a great young core in him, Bam Adebayo and Josh Richardson. So it makes sense for president Pat Riley to instead focus on luring over veteran talent.

Johnson: If it meant giving up Winslow as various reports suggested, then I’m fine that Miami kept out of the draft. The Heat have a solid young core, and should prioritize getting the finances right over adding more youth. Rookies are inexpensive thrill rides, but Miami’s vision is farther sighted than any one prospect in this draft pool.

Ramos: Yes, I do; I felt like Khyri Thomas from Creighton would have been a great and realistic get for the team in the second round.

Mora: Yes, I wish they had. They have a good team, but not a contender and their young core is taking them longer than expected to develop. Plus they have some bad contracts. I wish they would’ve been more active, but I trust Riley. He knows what he’s doing and I know it will pay off later on.

Nurse: I would have loved for the Heat to be able to trade into the first round for a Kevin Knox or Chandler Hutchison (and a little Justise Winslow relief).

Gewirtz: I had mixed feelings about the Heat trading in for a pick. When I heard that Winslow was in trade discussions to get into the first round, I was not on board because Winslow has a lot of potential and is still growing as a player. Trading him just to get another player to start that training process all over again was not worth it to me, unless it was a top 15 pick. If they did have a pick, I would have hoped it to be a PF/C with good footwork and some perimeter shooting skills.
