So who is one player from the past you wish was still on the team?

Leniart: The first names on my list are LeBron James and Chris Bosh. Those would be the easy answers. I’ll make this a bit more difficult on myself. I think Shane Battier would make a great addition to this Heat team. He is the prototypical “glue guy” in the NBA. Battier has an exceptionally high basketball IQ and he knows the role that he needs to fill on an NBA team. He’s a good 3-point shooter and an excellent defender. He also has the size and strength to play power forward in certain lineupsThe current Heat roster is a bit thin on big men that can stretch the floor on offense and defend the perimeter on defense. Adding a player like Battier to their rotation would help cover up those deficiencies.

Eyrich: Jason (White Chocolate) Williams. He might not have been one of the most valuable players in the Heat’s history, but his game was memorizing. He was crafty with his style and that was just his signature at the time. Plus, who can forget how big he came up in Game 6 versus the Detroit Pistons in 2006? Hitting his first 10 field goals was a huge reason the Heat made it to the NBA Finals.

Shofner: I was always a huge fan of Williams too.  As someone who appreciates a steady, pass-first point guard, he was a magician on the basketball court and one of the most exciting to watch.  If you haven’t gone down the rabbit hole and watched his son play, he could be just as majestic as his father was. Maybe the Heat can eventually draft his kin one day. That’s something that I would love to see.

Rahming: Bosh. It’s been one unfortunate set back after another for the man. I know that he’d still be a productive member of the team, while providing veteran leadership to those younger than him. He would fit well with so many iterations of the Heat lineup that it’d be a no-brainer to keep him on the roster, as long as he could get up and down the court.
