What do you hope the Heat are able to prove people wrong about in 2018-19?

Nurse: I hope that the Heat prove people wrong by competing for one of the top four spots. In the minds of most, Boston, Toronto and Philadelphia are already slotted in the top three. And places like ESPN have predicted that Miami will be in a worse spot than last year–seventh compared to sixth–with one less win in a weakened Eastern Conference.

Gewirtz: While I have been on board with moving Whiteside all summer, I hope that he proves everyone wrong and has the best season of his career in 2018-19. That would prove not only fans of other teams wrong, but a lot of Heat Nation as well, and could completely change the trajectory of the team and their place in the East.

Rahming: I have set the same goals for them this year as I have set for every year, past the Heatles era: move into the top 2/3 of the league in pace, and at least rank in the middle of the pack regarding points scored per game. The Heat should be surrounded by teams like the Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets; not the Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic. Improving those rankings and continuing to play phenomenal defense will get the team very far, as well as impress the fan base.

Eyrich: I hope the Heat can prove to everyone that it doesn’t take a household name to be a competitive team. I want to see them prove that a hungry roster full of misfits that other teams didn’t want to invest in and plays a great system of the game, can be competitive with any team on any night.
