With the 2018 NBA season less than a month away, Miami Heat fans are wondering what is the delay with Dwyane Wade’s new contract? Is he coming back to Miami?

The Miami Heat are now in the midst of initiating training camp, and their current roster stands at 16 players.

One name that is significantly missing from the list, is future Hall of Famer and Heat Lifer Dwyane Wade.

Should fans be nervous that it is taking so long for the Heat and Wade to reach an agreement?

I don’t think so.

Wade has been absent from Heat activities lately, but it also shows that he has been busy this summer with his China tour and taking advantage to spend time with his family.

He started his summer at the launch of Li-Ning Reburn in his Beijing Tour.

Part of his signature Way of Wade sneaker lifetime deal with Li-Ning. Udonis Haslem made the trip and spent weeks promoting the international tour.

The scary moment occurred when a China team took interest in him.

The Zhejiang Golden Bulls offered the guard a three-year, $25 million contract; way more than what the Heat can offer due to the mid-level exception.

But that was quickly put to rest when Manny Navarro from the Miami Herald caught up with Wade to address the concern.

"“When the decision needs to be made, it will be made. It’s different now. It’s not like we’re sitting down trying to figure out a $100 million contract and I need to sign it by July 8. So we have time.” Wade told Navarro. “Heat only. If I play the game of basketball this year, it will be in a Miami uniform. If I don’t, I’ll be living in Miami and somewhere else, probably.”"

So Heat fans can relax for a moment at the notion that he is leaving Miami for another team.

The rumors that he would once again join his banana boat biffie LeBron James in Los Angeles are also a thing of the past now.

If he comes back, it will be with Miami only. He made it clear.

The only headache is why it is taking so long for him and president Pat Riley to come to an agreement.

Regardless, the bright side of things is that he has been working out and training, as if he is ready for a comeback at least for one more year.

That’s the consensus around the league anyway; that he will work out a one year deal to come back. Until that happens though, Wade is leaving his loyal fanbase antsy and nervous as the days pass by.

With the season less than a month away, expect breaking news from his management team soon. At least for some closure if he decides to lean towards retirement.

But judging by his offseason workouts, it looks like he is leaning towards a comeback to the 305.
