In today’s AllUCanHeat Miami Heat 1-on-1, two contributors go over unanswered questions regarding the 2018-19 team.

Now that the dust has somewhat settled, do you still want the Miami Heat to trade for Jimmy Butler?

Allana Tachauer (@allanatachauer): I said it before and I’ll say it again: say no to the Miami Heat trading for Jimmy Butler. He’s talented, yes. And he could bring plenty to the table, that the team is currently missing. But at what cost? If the front office could somehow get the Minnesota Timberwolves to agree to a package including the likes of Dion Waiters and Tyler Johnson, then maybe I’d be okay with the idea of Butler coming aboard. However, even then, I’m not convinced he’d be a good fit for The Culture. He seemed to be a handful when he was with the Chicago Bulls, and has obviously proved to be trouble in Minnesota too. After all he did to make sure he landed under head coach Tom Thibodeau again, only to then request a trade a year later? That sounds like drama the Heat don’t need.

Imran Ebrahim (@iebrahim81): This is still me talking. So you should already know what I’ll say… of course they should. If the price remains anything less than Bam Adebayo, they should pull the trigger. Remember, this is still a top-20 player in the league. The Heat don’t have a top-five player at their position, let alone a top-20 player in the league. And honestly, the longer it plays out, the better I see it for the Heat. Minnesota’s owner doesn’t want to keep him, while the coach does. Who usually wins in that argument? Always the owner. And the longer the saga continues to fester, the cheaper Butler gets because it’s just easier to get rid of the drama around the situation. So while they asked the Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons in return, by the end of the drama, they’ll be taking Duncan Robinson and Tyler Johnson for Butler.
