The Miami Heat closed things out in overtime, taking the 120-115 win over the Detroit Pistons on Monday night.

Seemingly nothing comes easy for the Miami Heat lately.

After going on a three-game losing streak, the team bounced back Monday night, in a 120-115 road win over the Detroit Pistons.

Still, it was a tall order for the South Floridians, who had to battle it out in overtime to earn the victory.

(Thankfully Blake Griffin fouled out in the fourth quarter, giving the Heat a bit of an edge in those last five minutes.)

Nevertheless though, a win is a win. And, fans can continue to rest assured that good things are happening for the 2018-19 roster. They may just have to be a little more patient than they’re used to.

Drink up

I’m sure by now everyone is tired of hearing this, but Dwyane Wade really must have stumbled upon a fountain of youth.

He finished last night’s matchup with 18 points in 28 minutes of play, shooting 8-of-15 from the field (including hitting two 3-pointers). Oh, and he also snuck in a few dunks.

Three, to be exact.

He also came up with a major block on Langston Galloway, with less than a minute to go.

Yes, Father Prime showed out yet again, helping to keep Miami afloat not just on the scoreboard, but when it came to morale too. While obviously no one on the team wanted another loss on their hands, it was clear by the time overtime rolled around, that fatigue and frustration were both setting in.

The veteran was able to recharge the group though, and ultimately earn a victory.

Keep drinking from that fountain, Wade.

Can’t stop, won’t stop

In case it isn’t obvious by now, president Pat Riley made the right choice in not including Josh Richardson in a deal for Jimmy Butler.

And the fourth-year is making sure everyone knows it too.

After recording a career-high 32 points on November 3 versus the Atlanta Hawks, the swingman kept up the good work in Detroit.

He totaled 27 points in 38 minutes, going11-for-21 from the field and 3-of-5 from downtown.

This was also alongside eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks.

There’s really no stopping Richardson this season, as he is well on his way to becoming the future face of the franchise.

Kelly O returns

Olynyk may have averaged a nice 11.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists a game in 23.4 minutes of play last year, but so far this season, he’s been struggling a bit.

He went scoreless in 14 minutes against the Hawks, only even attempting two field goals.

But he definitely made his presence better known on Monday, finishing with 13 points, five rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal, in 24 minutes.

He still shot just 3-for-10 from the floor, but managed to be aggressive in drawing contact, going 4-of-5 from the charity stripe.

So some progress was certainly made.

The Miami Heat will play host to the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, November 7, at 7:30 PM ET.
