With another week, comes another AllUCanHeat Miami Heat 1-on-1.

Okay be honest: what’s one thing you now see you were wrong about regarding the Miami Heat, going into 2018-19 play?

Allana Tachauer (@allanatachauer): Let’s be serious, I’m never wrong. So, let me phrase this differently, for starters. What I’m surprised about, is that despite the Miami Heat bringing back more or less the same group from 2017-18, head coach Erik Spoelstra is still toying with lineups on a seemingly daily basis. Obviously, injuries have taken a toll on his system, and the team as a whole. I get that. But that problem aside, I have yet to feel a real sense of confidence from him, when it comes to his rotations. Between Hassan Whiteside‘s role being a huge question mark, Kelly Olynyk‘s presence dwindling and Wayne Ellington basically becoming a non-factor… I had hoped a lot of these issues would have been worked out, after a year with essentially the same roster.

Brandon Johnson (@bjohnsonNBA): Hm, probably that Bam Adebayo and Whiteside would play together more. They’ve shared the floor for a grand total of 12 minutes so far this season. For reference, it took me longer to think of how to complain about this, than the time they have spent on the court together. That’s a problem. And look, I totally understand why; the NBA doesn’t work when running a pair of centers, without reliable jumpers (not that Whiteside really jumps when he shoots). But to completely write off the lineup is unfortunate. The Heat aren’t exactly bound for greatness this season, so the organization may as well let these two tough out the lineup, and see how they gradually adapt.
