The Miami Heat accomplished a lot over the last calendar year, and all signs point to 2019 being another 365 days of prosperity.

As Instagram and Reddit are getting flooded with sarcastic (and not-so-sarcastic) “New year, new me” posts, the NBA has transitioned into the darkest part of the season.

At the start of every January, the NBA gets lost in a thicket of interesting, but usually unremarkable games. Take the Dallas Mavericks’ back-to-back games with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday. Despite the Mavs coming away with a clutch, close out, last possession win, the Thunder turned around and decimated Dallas on Sunday.

There was no fanfare for Luka Doncic or the (relatively) young Mavs, just a good, old-fashioned beat down by a more experienced Thunder team that wiped Dallas’ victory out of existance.

Now, the winter season is in full swing, and as the resolution-driven optimism fades away, the Association, somewhere in the midst of games 35-45 just, sort of, exists.

Which is why the new year is the perfect time to reflect on the best moments from, well, the last year.

2018 was kind to the Miami Heat. After missing the playoffs in 2017, the team bounced back and made a name as a squad not to be taken lightly. Sure, things didn’t go as planned—did you see how many guys got run in the Playoffs last year? —but Miami pushed back the notion of being a team that lacked direction.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the four best moments from the Miami Heat in 2018.
