No. 4 – Trade idea sending Wayne Ellington to the Los Angeles Clippers

In this trade idea, the Miami Heat would send Wayne Ellington to the Los Angeles Clippers for the veteran gritty point guard Patrick Beverley and a future first round pick.

The Clippers, much like the Jazz and Blazers, are fighting to stay in the playoff race in order to keep a winning culture in their respective organizations. As for the Clippers, they’ve been rumored to be in talks for several superstars, ranging from Jimmy Butler, Kevin Durant, and Kawhi Leonard.

If any of those big names are actually considering signing with LA next summer, then getting a solid sharpshooter like Ellington now, to secure a playoff spot, would make a big difference in any of those players’ decisions on who the best team to sign with will be.

As for Miami, getting a guard like Beverley would secure point guard depth, especially with the recent Dragic surgery. Not to mention Beverley’s insane taste for hustle play, which he has been very open about around the league, never giving any room to his opponent (sounds like a Spo guy).

The future first is a lot to ask for because it’s very possible that the Clippers don’t get a superstar in the near future and become a lottery-like team over the next few seasons. But it’s 2022, so that’s quite a while from now.

Our last trade idea is to a Western team that has one of the greatest offensive players of all time.
