Trade No. 4 – Hassan Whiteside and the pick-and-roll guru Rodney McGruder get sent to Washington with a plethora of draft picks for Bradley Beal

In this trade idea, the Miami Heat send Hassan Whiteside, Rodney McGruder, two unprotected 1st round picks, as well as a 2nd round pick to the Washington Wizards in return for Bradley Beal.

Many Heat fans would miss the lobs and grit from McGruder if this move happened this season, he’s turned himself into a solid movable asset that is only on a 1-year deal. And if Miami is loving the idea of getting the big man Whiteside, then making this move is a pretty good idea for the Wizards.

With the 2019/2021 unprotected 1st round picks, as well as the 2022 second round pick, those 3 assets are really why Washington pulls the trigger on this deal, and not to mention how much fun it would be for D.C. to run a Rodney/Whiteside pick-and-roll.

When compared to the past trade ideas in this column, as well as the upcoming one, this move is obviously not as good. In saying that, Washington could be loving the idea of getting a few 1st’s and a 2nd in return for Beal if they truly want to start a rebuild.

Albeit, without Richardson or Winslow added into this deal, Miami may have to ante up and add 3 1st’s to the package, allowing Beal to be sent to South Florida (is that worth it?). Not to mention the fact that McGruder has been the foundation of Miami’s new culture over the past few seasons, proving his worth a lot like the rest of the Heat’s players.

Our last deal has a little to do with a “golden arm.”
