In this trade idea, the Miami Heat would be sending Dion Waiters to the Atlanta Hawks for combo guard Jeremy Lin.

The two talents of Waiters and Lin are actually fairly similar, as they both can seamlessly switch between the 1 and 2, while able to slash and score at will with facilitating as a close second option.

There have been several sources swarming the ideas of Atlanta trading away a few of their players, via Marc Stein of ESPN and CBS Sports:

"“The Hawks are known to have made the veteran point guard Lin, big man Dewayne Dedmon and swingman Kent Bazemore available in advance of the Feb. 7 trade deadline in search of more draft picks.” And while it’s unclear at this point how much interest Dedmon and Bazemore will draw, Lin is already attracting attention from the Sacramento Kings, according to Stein. “Sacramento is among the teams that have expressed exploratory trade interest in Hawks guard Jeremy Lin, according to league sources.”"

If Miami does intend to drop in to try and snag Bazemore, Dedmon, or hopefully Lin, they will have to entice the Hawks to want Waiters or Whiteside, as those are two of the only movable assets that wouldn’t kill this Heat team moving forward.

The next move surrounds a player with a lot of drama next to his name.
