Trade no. 2

In this trade idea, the Miami Heat would send Dion Waiters, Wayne Ellington, Rodney McGruder and a 2019 unprotected first round pick to the Dallas Mavericks for Dennis Smith Jr., Wesley Matthews and Salah Mejri.

Per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, we see a blatantly honest Waiters’ explain his disagreement with how his situation has been handled over the past few games:

"“[Expletive] patience!” he said. “I want to play. I’ve been patient long enough. What do I got to be patient for? Come on man. I’ve been patient. I think everybody knows that. It’s time. What are we waiting for? If I’m out there, play me.”"

Obviously, Waiters’ does not lack confidence, and could be the spark plug that the Mavericks need off the bench or even in the starting lineup to help Doncic, Harrison Barnes and DeAndre Jordan on the offensive end.

As for the other parts of this deal, as I have stated in my previous slide, they make sense moving forward for both franchises. Wesley Matthews would also be a nice veteran presence on this Heat team and would help Dwyane Wade off the bench, or even in the starting lineup.

Ultimately, it will be up to the Dallas front office if they believe in Waiters’ enough to help this Mavericks team get into the playoffs, at least he has the confidence of Doncic.
