Kevin Love, Cleveland Cavaliers

It is quite possible that the Cleveland Cavaliers are attempting to get rid of every asset they have had since LeBron James wore a Cavs jersey, and we don’t blame them, as the Heat have most definitely felt the sorrow of a LeBron-less team.

All-Star Kevin Love could be the next guy to leave Cleveland, as he has been rumored to be aggressively shopped around. And while Love just signed an extension with the Cavs and will make close to $30 million as a 34-year-old in the final year of his deal, there could be a move to be made for the NBA Champion.

The Heat are obviously intrigued with stretch fours that can switch between the five with the signing of Kelly Olynyk, but Love would be a complete upgrade for a Heat team in dire need of a switch up at the big man position. Even with the potential stardom of Bam Adebayo, the future of the league is a stretch-big who can diversify a game by shooting and facilitating, and Love could fill that role in the meantime.

The obvious move is to pair either McGruder or Ellington with Hassan Whiteside to grab Love, you just have to talk Cleveland into upgraded from Tristian Thompson to Whiteside, which is actually a pretty easy sell.

Ultimately, the Heat need to at least make a move for Love, as it is quite possible they could steal him from a team that is having internal issues, and Cleveland has been looking for a new coach and is currently being run by several new front office workers. Not to mention, the Cavs are just trying to get rid of their older player that have notes of LeBron attached to them, and that is most definitely Kevin Love.
