Jeremy Lin, Atlanta Hawks
As previously mentioned, the Atlanta Hawks are very interested in getting the vets out of Georgia. In this case, we get a frequent opponent of Miami who has consistently been a headache for a Heat team in dire need of a consistent spark plug off the bench.
Jeremy Lin has been one of the best overall offensive players off the bench this season, and when healthy, Lin has become a true commodity in this league. But no, Linsanity is not coming back, although he is still a really, really good combo-guard to fill some solid minutes.
Again, it seems that Tyler Johnson would have to be the guy that has to go, possibly paired with Rodney McGruder and picks to make this attractive enough for Atlanta moving forward. And in a way, Lin is just a more experienced version of Tyler Johnson’s ceiling, so this could be one of the more underrated trade ideas in this column.
Lin will most likely be moved by the deadline, as he has become one of the biggest NBA journeymen, so I would really like Pat Riley to call up Atlanta to fight for at least one of their helpful assets, as Miami has problems that a few of the Hawks’ players could solve.
