The 22-24 Miami Heat are currently the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference and after Goran Dragic’s injury, it was apparent that the Heat would be without an All-Star this season. However, fans and media/coaches alike have been non-stop voting for the future Hall of Famer, but Wade may disagree with that.

As the Miami Heat try to make their way into the playoffs with a comfortable seeding beside the 8th seed, the more intriguing news at the moment may be whether future Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade makes the All-Star team or not.

Your first question may be, how? And that is totally understandable, but as the NBA is allowing Head Coaches to vote on All-Star reserves, Wade has a justifiable chance to be named to his final and 13th All-Star team.

However, Wade himself does not exactly agree with the notion of him being an All-Star this season, per Ira winderman of the Sun Sentinel:

"“If I’m choosing an All-Star, I’m not picking me,” he said, per Ira Windermanof the Sun Sentinel. “It’s not an indictment on anything, but guys that deserve to be All-Stars will be All-Stars.”He continued:“For the first time, I actually agree with [TNT analyst] Charles Barkley and what he said. It’s a lot of guys that get their first chance to be All-Stars, and if they deserve it, then they deserve it and they should have those spots. I appreciate the love from my fans to even vote me, to have as many votes as they did. But from an All-Star standpoint, there’s multiple guys that deserve to be in there and I hope they get their opportunity.”"

In a way, this is one of the best Wade quotes of all-time, which is saying a lot.

There is something to be said about the incredible maturity of Wade this year in contrast to the last season he fully suited up before the Chicago Bulls, it was almost like the trip to the Windy City opened up his eyes to what he has created in Miami.

Ultimately, Wade could not get the spot over Kyrie Irving or Kemba Walker, but may be able to sneak a spot as a reserve, even if he believes a first-year All-Star deserves the spot more. We will be finding out over the next week-or-so, please stay tuned to see if our future Hall of Famer makes his final All-Star game.

As the Heat are looking into the near future, it is quite possible that an All-Star game could not matter less, however, it is also possible that Miami may not make the playoffs in Wade’s final season, making an All-Star game very important for his final season.
