4-Team Blockbuster Trade

In this monumental trade, we have the Miami Heat dealing with the Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks, and the Detroit Pistons.

While many would view this move as video game-like, I would argue that this massive trade idea would be beneficial for all organizations involved and that it would be more efficient getting a move done like this with 4-teams, rather than individual moves that may seem methodical, but in reality, are a huge waste of time.

There have been a plethora of rumors surrounding each of these franchises, ranging from the Heat’s cap constraint for the next 4 years, the dramatic headcase that is John Wall in Washington, the anguish of Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond on a losing team for years to come, and the Mavericks tired of being complacent by moving for good, young talent in Doncic, Kristaps, and now Drummond.

And while I have draft picks involved in this trade idea, this could possibly be a move made with even more assets in the form of future picks, it’s just that they are difficult to apply value to, as all future draft picks are a gamble, for better or worse.

Our next few slides will analyze this trade idea for each specific team, starting with the Detroit Pistons.
