The Minnesota Timberwolves

The Heat travel to face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday in a game with meaning for only one team. With the competitive portion of the Timberwolves’ season long over, a number of regular contributors will miss this game.

Jeff Teague, Derrick Rose and Robert Covington have all been shut down for the season, while Taj Gibson is currently day-to-day with a calf injury. While the roster is thin, the Timberwolves will still have the best player on the floor in the form of Karl-Anthony Towns, among the NBA’s most skilled offensive big men.

This will be a tough matchup for Bam Adebayo, Hassan Whiteside and the Heat’s bigs, but it’s one in which they’ll have to hold their own in order to win.

The Heat lost their previous meeting with the Timberwolves on December 30th, dropping that game at home by a 113-104 margin.

The Timberwolves are 3-7 in their last 10 games, but one of those wins was a controversial overtime victory over the Golden State Warriors. While they might be a shell of their former selves, they’re a team that can jump up and beat anybody on the right night, especially when playing at home.

This ranks as the easiest game of the four.
