A night after going for 30 in his final home game for the Miami Heat, Dwyane Wade surpassed the feat on Wednesday in Brooklyn. He only triple-doubled, not bad for a guy that’s retiring.

The Miami Heat faithful got a treat on Wednesday night out of Dwyane Wade. How many players can say they’ve ever accomplished the triple-double in a real NBA game? Russell Westbrook and Oscar Robertson are the kings of the monstrous feat, so excluding them, how many really can? To take it a step further, how many players can say that they accomplished the task in the last NBA game they ever played?

Well, there is at least one person on that list now, and that is number 3 for the Miami Heat. Dwyane Wade showed out in Brooklyn for what is to be his last game in the NBA. To accompany the 25 points Flash threw in on Wednesday, he dropped 10 dimes and added 11 rebounds to boot.

On top of it all, it was Udonis Haslem who hit the shot that was D-Wade’s 10th assist. For the second night in a row, D-Wade led the Miami Heat and all scorers, as the next highest scorer in the game was D’Angelo Russell with 21. This was a pretty good two nights for the retiring two-guard, finishing off his career with back to back nights of 30 and 25 points respectively.

The Miami Heat would eventually lose this one to the playoff-bound Brooklyn Nets. Although the Nets won the game, Dwyane Wade won the night. On top of another superb performance to close out his spectacular career, Dwyane Wade was saluted by his fellow Banana Boat Crew members, who attended his final game in Brooklyn.

NBA veteran Carmelo Anthony, Houston Rocket’s point guard Chris Paul, and LeBron James of course were all in attendance for their brothers last game. It’s amazing Carmelo was able to find his way to the arena, seeing as he hasn’t found his way into many these days and with LeBron being “stunned” reportedly by the Magic Johnson fiasco, it was great of him to show up. Not that any of them wouldn’t have as they all have a true friendship it seems, it was still awesome to see them present for Flash’s final game.

On ESPN’s NBA Countdown, after seeing the highlight’s from Brooklyn tonight during an in-between games segment, former NBA Champion Detroit Piston Chauncey Billups asked the now infamous Paul Pierce how many triple doubles he had during his last season. Pierce’s response was something to the nature of remembering having triple donuts. That was said to lead to this, outside of the “Paul Pierce sucks” chants roaring from American Airline Arena on Tuesday night, a D-Wade triple double was the perfect ending to a game.

Billups also said he believes D-Wade may “pull a Mayweather”, and that “he wouldn’t be surprised if we saw him again”. It’s too early Mr. Billups, the heart can only take so much. But for now, the party may be over, but his legacy will live forever among Miami, NBA, and sports fans in general.

Next. Dwyane Wade's final home game a night to remember. dark

He messed around and got a triple double, #L3gacy!
