The Big3 is set to hold its combine, lottery and draft events this week in Las Vegas. The traveling circuit will begin its third season later this year, and a couple of former Miami Heat players are hoping to make the cut and get selected in its entry draft.

The combine will take place on April 30th, in the morning and early afternoon, and the lottery will take place later that evening. The draft will be held May 1st at HyperX Esports Arena at The Luxor. It will begin at 7PM PST and be shown on CBS Sports Network in its entirety.

Among the more notables hoping to get a shot, Lamar Odom and Mario Chalmers are in the draft pool, looking to impress and make a team. Odom played just one season in Miami, but Chalmers played the first eight years of his career for the Miami Heat and won two NBA championships in South Beach.

Whoever gets drafted will join a long list of former Heat players in positions of leadership. Among the Big3’s captains and co-captains: Rashard Lewis, Jermaine O’Neal, Amar’e Stoudemire, Mike Bibby, Joe Johnson and Shannon Brown. Gary Payton, another former Miami Heat player, is a coach, leading the 3 Headed Monsters.

The Big3 is a professional 3-on-3 basketball league. It is played in the half court with some significant differences from NBA rules, including twists like a 4-point zone 30 feet from the basket.
