Washington Wizards

With the Washington Wizards being in full rebuild mode, and while owing John Wall near $170 million over the next four seasons while he recovers from an injury that will keep him out for most of next season, they should be looking to liquidate as well. As apart of starting all over, they should look to get out of all long-term commitments as soon as possible.

This will definitely include declining a team option on forward Jabari Parker, who was acquired mid-season from the Chicago Bulls. If they were somehow able to clear Ian Mahinmi‘s deal off the books as well, that would probably be a huge deal to this team and their front office. There is also a way in which Miami can help them off-load salary as well, while Miami would help get them that much closer to a rebuild.

If you take a look a Bradley Beal‘s current deal, he will make just over $27 million for next season, and that lines up nicely with Hassan’s figures for next season as well. The kicker here is that Beal is under contract for the next two seasons, whereas Hassan Whiteside’s deal will come off the books at the end of next season.

For the Miami Heat, it would be getting a building block guy who can create, take, and make his own shots, while the Wizards would be getting just that much closer to a point where they can totally rebuild. It would work out extremely well for both parties here.
