Coby White (Freshman)-UNC-Guard

If North Carolina freshman guard Coby White is still on the board when the Miami Heat makes their selection, they should run to the podium themselves with the pick in hand. White not only offers a viable option on the ball, as he was this past season at UNC as the lead guard, but he also brings the ability to flat-out knock down the three ball, as he also did at UNC.

White has great size for the point guard position, and decent size if he is to slot in at the 2-guard at 6’5″. He has good athleticism, although not elite based on what he put on tape at UNC, he still has the chance to become a very good defender at the next level as well. As he showed that he could also make the right reads and passes when he needs to, he could jump right into the Miami Heat’s rotation as a rookie, and if nothing more than for his lights out shooting abilities.

Regardless of whether it is any of those mentioned here or not, the Miami Heat must make the most of their pick. Whether they take a player at 13, attempt to move up to get a specific guy, or move back to acquire assets, they must get this right. Without a ton of room to work with under the salary cap, they have to find some form of immediate production to add to their team.
