The Miami Heat brass may be at the NBA combine, but Bam Adebayo is in the gym. The best part though is who’s in there with him.

While the rest of the Miami Heat culture has their senses fixated on NBA Draft proceedings, from the front office to the coaches and even the fans, some of the actual Heat players are apparently hard at work. Bam Adebayo will reportedly work out with The Greek Freak at some point this summer, per reports a few weeks ago, but Giannis Antetokounmpo won’t be the only person he trains with this off-season. Captured in a video tweeted out by the official Miami Heat Twitter account, Bam Adebayo is getting some work in with former Miami Heat big man and champion, Chris Bosh.

Although it isn’t precisely clear where they are located, it appears that they are in the Miami Heat practice facility, based on the golden-colored mats along the wall. Other elements of the short video that gave that impression were the other coaches/trainers that it appears were also dressed in Heat gear, along with a tiny cameo from who appears to be Heat assistant coach Juwan Howard.

What you see Bam working on in the video is a series of jump shots from the block to mid baseline area. Each time he catches, he performs his moves before taking a jumper. He displayed a few different things including the quick turnaround fade away over the right shoulder towards the baseline, a jab inside back to the turnaround jump shot towards the right shoulder and baseline, and even had a smaller but closer in shot of a face-up from the post to the jab step followed by a made jump shot.

Although you would still like and need to see him execute some of these things in a game against live competition, these are great signs for the Heat big man. Chris Bosh is the perfect teacher for those particular skill sets as he was very adept at the moves mentioned above. You can hear Chris Bosh saying “nice” as Adebayo executes one of the moves, and partly because he is a man who knows when they’re done correctly and effectively.

Chris Bosh could also stand to give Adebayo a few pointers on positioning and things to watch for on the defensive side of the ball as well. An under-credited, underrated, and often times underappreciated defender while in the league, he also knows a thing or two about being an undersized center, as he was utilized for most of his Miami days.

This should be a very good thing for Bam Adebayo and the Miami Heat, and besides,  it’s always great to see Chris Bosh lurking somewhere around the organization. It can’t possibly harm anything or be bad at all, it can only help. While we are on the topic and in closing, take a permanent gig with the organization already CB, you’re already fitting right in.
