Miami Heat Check Gaming flood Cavs Gaming in Hood’s Debut
After trading for 2018 standout Brandon “Hood” Caicedo Sunday night, Miami Heat Check Gaming played it’s first of two games of the night against Hood’s old team Cavs Legion GC.

The stage was set, and the revenge game was quickly underway. Hood looked every bit of the scoring punch Miami Heat Check needed as he scored the first 7 of the teams 9 points including the first shot of the game, a pull-up 3-pointer from the left wing. He went on to score 11 of the team’s 17 first-quarter points.
Yes, I’m sure the Heat missed JMoneyRep at the time of the trade, but that was all put to rest when Hood took the court for his first game in a Heat Check uniform. He played like a man on a mission, and he was not afraid to score the basketball. We got to see him take it to the rim from both sides of the paint as well as right down the middle. He seemed to be in attack mode all night. No matter who rotated to the paint, he had a move that gave him an advantage, and before you know it, the Cavs were taking the ball out of bounds. This was also the case from the 3-point line. He ended the game with 24 points and six assists on 9-of-12 shooting from the floor and was 4-of-4 from downtown.
Majes7ic made sure to contribute his fair share as he finished the contest with 25 points, four assists, and five steals while shooting 73-percent from the floor on 15 attempts. While he only made one 3-pointer, Majes7ic made a living with his mid-range touch. He could often be seen drifting into open space while Hood drove the ball. People do this all the time, but he made sure to get underneath the top of the defense by hanging out below the 3-point arc. He was patient, and when it was his turn to shoot, he was unafraid.
The flood gates were open
Once the Miami Heat Check knew what they were dealing with, they got their rain jackets and umbrellas out and continued their march toward the finish line. The Cavs were on the wrong end of a big blowout, and it seemed like there was nothing they could do about it. At the halfway mark, the Heat were up by eight and HotShot hadn’t scored a point. By the 3:30 mark in the third quarter, the Heat were already up to five steals and went on a 19-5 run. Game over.
When it was all said and done the Heat flooded the Cavs by 31 points. There’s no sugar-coating in the league. The viewers know it, and so do the players. Once the R1/L1 outlet passes started happening with no regard for the Cavs transition defense, that was all she wrote.
My Picks
Player of the Game: HotShot
Heat Check center HotShot was one assist away from a triple-double (10pts, 15rbs, 9ast, 4stls) but the Cavs intentionally fouled to prevent that from happening. Anyone watching could tell the duo of Hood and HotShot is going to grow, but even while accommodating a new go-to player in the starting lineup, He was able to get his numbers while having a significant impact on the defensive end.
Glue Guy: Majes7ic
The name of the game was float around in open space as a release valve for Hood and being ready to shoot. If the shot wasn’t there, he made sure the ball kept moving to the tune of four assists. On the defensive end, he was everywhere to the tune of five steals.
