With the NBA Free Agency period about to kick off in a few hours, the reports are coming fast. One in particular though has Miami Heat fans on high alert.
As the NBA moved it’s annual free agency moratorium period up by six hours this year, the reports and rumors are flying around even more abundantly than usual. With the Miami Heat being almost capped out before this flight even takes off, they haven’t been the subject of many of these reports.
While they aren’t the absolute talk of the town, that doesn’t mean that they didn’t or won’t find a way to get in on the party. As there has seemed to be mutual interest between free agent and star guard/forward Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat for months, there is a report that just solidified it. Per AP NBA Writer Tim Reynolds, and his source, Jimmy Butler is expected to let the Heat know that he wants to play for them in tonight’s meeting.
Not that this is a surprise - or means anything - but Jimmy Butler is expected to tell Miami officials tonight that he wishes to play for the Heat, per source.

While it is a literal surprise to see it so publicized or actually reported by a reputable source, this has been a notion speculated upon throughout Miami Heat Nation amongst its fan base for months at least. It still hits a bit different to hear or see it actually reported though.
Speaking of the fans or members of the Miami Heat Nation, they haven’t been shy on this day either. Here is some of what has been said on The Twitter thus far. Here are a few tweets from Miami Heat Beat’s Greg Sylvander.
I can picture them in Chicago’s locker room and Wade just saying “this is a joke bro. If you ever get a chance you have to go to Miami.” pic.twitter.com/VfZ0fncXzI

That’s comedy. Here is another.
Reminder: HEAT have a free agent meeting today IN THEIR BUILDING w/ top 15-20 player despite having no cap space & being deemed with “bleakest future” by ESPN experts.

And will have max and double max space the next two summers.
It’s why we wouldn’t rather be the ____________.
Here is another set of tweets from a loyal Heatle. This account always has a few gems.

The anxiety wouldn’t stop here though. Here is another from a few hours or so later.

As you can see, we even joined in on the fun. We had a few sentiments of our own to share during this anxious time. From this response to other responses to reports, we even took the time to remember Chris Bosh while radiating good energy over the irony of the fact that today would have been the last day of his deal with the Miami Heat.
Anxiety....confusion...desperation.... necessity...something like that..lol https://t.co/8e0Kq6h1hz

Here is a response to the Tim Reynolds tweet. As you can see, we don’t like to play games.

We also had to take the time to acknowledge Chris Bosh, as previously mentioned. There was also time to acknowledge what an evil genius at work looks like, as we captioned a picture of Miami Heat boss and mastermind, Pat Riley.

With that signature yet diabolically clever fist under chin pondering face...gotta love Riles! #InPatWeTrust https://t.co/oHe8RposjS

Whatever you have going on today, please keep your eyes on the alert section of your mobile telecommunications device. It is sure to blow up come the six o’clock PM hour.
Whatever happens though, it should be fun. Let’s just hope it’s as fun as the lead up as has been, and that it works out well for the Miami Heat.
