Per report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the sign-and-trade deal bringing Jimmy Butler to the Miami Heat is complete as a four-team deal.

At long last, the blockbuster on-again-off-again multi-team deal bringing Jimmy Butler to the Miami Heat is finally complete. After a bizarre miscommunication scuttled the deal in its initial form, sending Butler to Miami, Josh Richardson to the Philadelphia 76ers and Goran Dragic to the Dallas Mavericks, the deal was reworked and according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the transaction is complete.

As Woj reports, the recently acquired Maurice Harkless will be heading to the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Heat will send a future first round draft pick to the Clippers for their trouble.

So in total, the Heat trade with the Sixers and the subsequent trade with the Portland Trail Blazers, in which Hassan Whiteside was traded for Harkless and Meyers Leonard, will be completed as an interconnected transaction.

The Heat get Butler and Leonard, send out Josh Richardson and Hassan Whiteside along with a first round pick, the Sixers get Josh Richardson, the Blazers get Whiteside, the Clippers get Harkless and that draft pick.

As the insanity of the first 24 hours of NBA free agency continues to percolate, it can’t be ruled out that there may be future adjustments to this deal. In the mean time, however, what matters to fans of the Miami Heat is that Jimmy Butler and Meyers Leonard have taken their talents to South Beach, and Hassan Whiteside has departed.

It also appears that the Heat will be able to keep Dragic, Kelly Olynyk and Derrick Jones Jr. after all, at least for now.

Butler will now be on contract with the Heat, starting a 4-year, $142 million max deal which is the most he could get in a sign-and-trade.
