With the 2019 NBA offseason’s spectacular free agency upheaval over and done with, it’s time to look towards next season and the three Miami Heat players best poised to break out.

Barring yet another blockbuster deal for the Miami Heat, perhaps for Bradley Beal and John Wall, the roster is likely close to its final form and the depth chart is probably more or less in place for the start of next season. While the main contributors for the 2019-20 season are known, like Jimmy Butler and Goran Dragic, some parts of the depth chart show some signs of untapped potential.

We’ll take a look at the three players best poised for a breakout campaign next season, but we’re going to disregard the rookies on the roster. Tyler Herro and KZ Okpala have plenty of potential, but rookies are almost never plus-performers in their debut season, so we won’t put heavy expectations on them for the purposes of this exercise.

However, while we aren’t going to include the rookies, we won’t disregard regular members of the rotation, including starters. For reasons we’ll get into later, one of the younger starters on the roster is positioned to have a breakout year, depending on how a variety of circumstances play out over the rest of the summer and the early stages of the 2019-20 season.

For a roster that at a glance is burdened with some overpaid contracts, there is also plenty of upside. We’ll explain why and where that potential lies as we go over the three Miami Heat players best poised to break out next season.
