Tyler Herro did some shooting on Monday at the Miami Heat practice facility, and the jumper was nothing short of pure. He followed that performance up with some more heat on Twitter.

The Miami Heat drafted Tyler Herro 13th overall in the first round of this summer’s draft for his shooting, and he put on a demonstration of just why they put so much stock in it at the Heat practice facility on Monday. Herro drained 15 of the 16 3-pointers recorded by the Heat twitter account, and he quote-tweeted the tweet with some fire of his own.

This was of course in reference to Hassan Whiteside‘s immediate reaction after being traded from the Miami Heat to the Portland Trail Blazers as part of the massive four-team deal that brought Jimmy Butler to South Beach.

If you don’t recall his exuberance when learning the news, check out a reminder from his own Instagram account:

It looks like Herro has some social media chops to go with that shooting.

As for the shooting itself, the Heat are counting on Tyler Herro providing lights-out shooting next season. They were the 10th-worst 3-point shooting team in the NBA last season, hitting just 34.9 percent of their attempts.

Coming off a freshman season at Kentucky where he hit 35.5 percent from long range, Herro is likely the best shooter of the new additions to the roster, with all due respect to both Jimmy Butler and stretch-four (and five) Meyers Leonard.

Butler is a 34.7 percent 3-point shooter for his career, and Leonard shoots 38.5 percent for his career but shot a remarkable 45 percent from behind the arc last season.

At this early stage, it appears the 19-year-old Herro is certainly not lacking in confidence. Hopefully for fans of the Miami Heat the youngster will be able to carry that forward into his rookie season in 2019-20.
