The Miami Heat have their next outright star. Although he wasn’t homegrown, sometimes you have to bring them in, but here’s what he should bring with him.

When the Miami Heat entered the offseason, there was no conceivable way to immediately declare that they would be able to land a star. While the rumors had run rampant and while there should be infinite trust in Pat Riley to pull the right strings and to make something happen, there was no definite outlook in which the Miami Heat would land a star.

As mentioned, Pat Riley eventually pulled a rabbit out of his hat in landing Jimmy Butler. While it wasn’t a complete Houdini act, only because the Heat had to send off a very valuable piece in Josh Richardson to the Philadelphia 76’ers as apart of the deal, it was a magic trick worthy of all the praise.

The Miami Heat, who were seemingly on a schedule that wouldn’t see them make any significant moves until at least after this upcoming season, were able to bring in a guy who will be their resident star. What will this star in Jimmy Butler bring with him though? Here are three immediate impact elements that the four-time NBA All-Star, two-time All NBA player, and four-time NBA All-Defensive teamer will bring with him.

Elite Wing Defending

The Miami Heat already had two upper echelon wing defenders in tow, with a third one in development. These players are Justise Winslow, the aforementioned traded Josh Richardson, and the up and coming Derrick Jones Jr. who is more affectionately known as simply Airplane Mode.
