In our ongoing Three Goals series, we’ll look to the future for each Miami Heat player, forecasting what their top goals should be for the coming season. Up today is Kezie ‘KZ’ Okpala.

KZ Okpala was added in the busy Miami Heat off-season that netted Jimmy Butler in a blockbuster four-team sign-and-trade involving the Philadelphia 76ers, the Portland Trail Blazers and the LA Clippers, and drafted first round pick Tyler Herro 13th overall from Kentucky, but Okpala was an excellent under-the-radar move by the franchise.

The forward might have a hard time seeing minutes this season, but the franchise has high hopes for him as he was taken with the second pick in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft after inexplicably falling out of the first round.

After the Heat saw the athletic freak drop below the first 30 picks, they knew they had to trade up to select him, and did just that via a trade with the Indiana Pacers and Phoenix Suns in what was a busy draft night with second round picks being moved all around the NBA.

Okpala will probably spend time in the G-League with the Sioux Falls Skyforce this season, but there are some realistic, yet difficult benchmarks set in place for the forward. Numbers one and two are not necessities for this season, but with such a talented player in a great organization, it is definitely possible.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at what is in store for KZ Okpala in the season to come.
