Regain His Shooting Efficiency

Last year was a down year for Dragic in terms of his efficiency from the field as a whole. He shot only 41.3 percent from the field, which was his lowest mark in the category since his first season in the league.

What makes this statistic seem a bit worst, he only took 12 shots per game, his lowest mark in that category since the 2012-13 season. His 12 shots per game were down considerably from the previous season where he took 14.3 shots per game in 2017-18 and the 15.4 shots per game he took the season prior to that one in 2016-17.

Even in those two prior seasons where he took considerably more shots, his field goal percentage numbers were much higher than they were this past season. He shot 47.5 percent from the field on those 15.4 shots in 2016-17. while knocking down 45 percent of his 14.3 shots during his All-Star 2017-18 season.

Something else of note, but not a ton considering that he took a few more shots from range than he did in prior seasons, is the fact that his three-point shooting percentage was down as well. Where he took four shots per game from three in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons, he took 4.6 attempts on last season.

His percentage from last season from deep was 34.8 percent, while his previous two seasons were at 37 and 40.5 percent respectively. This can again be a little misleading as he took more attempts last year, but you would at least like him to get back to the 37 percent from 2017-18, which would be a perfect medium to the 40.5 percent from the 2016-17 season and the 34.8 from this past season.

No matter which way you slice it, these are all very attainable goals for the Slovenian star. He would help himself and his team if he were able to accomplish all three, but we can’t wait to see whatever he does, regardless.
