The Miami Heat excited most folks by landing Jimmy Butler this summer. One group that didn’t take it as well though were fans of the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Miami Heat landed Jimmy Butler this summer, as we all know. Hooray, right?

Well, that isn’t the sentiment from everywhere and every fan base. Unsurprising to most, Philadelphia 76ers fans were not with the movement.

Almost as soon as the news was announced, the emotions and responses ranged from hatred of the move to slandering Jimmy Butler. It is almost as if Philly fans forgot he was practically their best player during the playoffs. Here are some of the reactions.

To start us off and as we previously documented, here is a former WNBA star and Basketball Hall Of Famer spewing rhetoric. Take it away, Mrs. Leslie.

We also heard from less famous and well-known fans. Their takes were just as outrageous though. Here are a few more of them.

If he is or were playing soccer, that is pretty good, right? At least his hand-eye coordination and athletic imagination will be sharp once he arrives at camp. Check this out.

These words read like those of a disgruntled fan. How can anyone assume about what is actually going on in Butler’s mind? While there were a ton of clairvoyants in the days following the Butler decision, here was a live look-in at Philly fans.

These didn’t take the cake though. Earlier this week, it all got much worse.

The granddaddy of all slander reared its ugly face. It came in the form of a satire piece written by a Philadelphia 76ers outlet. See for yourself.

Salty much? This was exactly what we were attempting to ask upon retweeting the piece of work. Is he “retiring”, or joining a world-class organization?

By “world-class”, of course we mean the Miami Heat. Here is another tweet from a Miami based outlet that pretty much sums it up.

The proof is in the pudding, as they say. Regardless of how you choose to view the scenario, Butler did what made him happy.

On top of making the move he thought was the best move for him, he joined an organization that embodies the things he seems to stand for.

Hard work, diligence, no-nonsense, and everything else that Butler seems to embody is what Heat Culture is all about. Not only will he silence the critics, smash the haters, and prove the naysayers wrong, but he will do it all while helping to bring this Miami Heat team that much closer to contention again.

dark. Next. 3 goals for Jimmy Butler in the 2019-20 season

Either way you chop it up, it was a win-win scenario for both parties. As mentioned earlier though, stay classy Philly!
