With every player’s 3 goals all written, there is only one thing left to talk about. What are the key goals for the Miami Heat?

To be completely honest, last season was a disappointment for the Miami Heat. For the third time in five years, they weren’t able to reach the playoffs. What makes this season a disappointment is that they should have made it without struggle especially by playing in the weaker Eastern Conference.

Since the departure of LeBron James, there have been several aspects of the game that the team has constantly been struggling with. These weaknesses are the main reason they couldn’t get over the bump especially in the series against the Philadelphia 76ers

The three main weaknesses are the team’s free throws, their lack of offense, and the ability to play in the clutch. The only reason they remain in the playoff race is through their “Heat culture” and their top-level defense.

So, just imagine if there were slight improvements in each of those categories?

Think about this team, the same team that went 30-11 only two years ago but healthier, with a star, and further improved. Miami already has proven in each of their seasons this century that they can suffocate the team with their defense. Just have a look at the defensive powerhouse. The only thing they lacked is offense and star power.

Now, I’m not stating that the Heat should aim to be a top-five offense or let alone top-10. But even a slight improvement to average will make them a much bigger threat.

And that is exactly what the team’s goals are for the next season; improve the free throws, improve the offense, and improve on clutch situations.
