We’re just about ready for the Miami Heat season to begin, and it looks like Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro are getting into game mode themselves.

While you were sleeping or perhaps getting ready for work on Friday morning, Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro were already hard at work on the Miami Heat practice floor. As much as we might be ready for the coming season to start, it sure seems like this duo is just as ready to get it in gear for 2020.

As reported by Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, the guys were at it early in Miami.

Butler posted a video of the duo during a brief interlude in their workout on his Instagram, which you can see here (linked rather than embedded due to NSFW language).

It’s interesting to see Butler and Herro bonding as quickly as they have with their second workout of the week together. Butler is not known to be especially benevolent towards his younger teammates, and the rookie Herro, who was born on January 20th, 2000, certainly qualifies as the youngest teammate Butler has ever had.

Their bond may be an indication of good things to come. Butler is notorious for being somewhat hard to get along with over the course of his career at stops with the Chicago Bulls, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Philadelphia 76ers, but this relationship could be proof that either he is mellowing as his career advances, or there is something special about Herro that he enjoys and wants to help develop and cultivate.

Either way, whether it be a change in Butler’s temperament or simply that he’s enthralled by Herro, it bodes well for the Miami Heat in the coming season. A kinder and gentler Butler or a killer Herro, any way you cut it, that’s a good thing.
