Earlier this week it was revealed that the Miami Heat’s longtime naming rights partner, American Airlines, would not renew. Guess who wants some action?

The Miami Heat and American Airlines Arena have been synonymous with one another for quite a long time now. Being the name on the building since New Year’s Eve of 1999, it has seen the Heat win three titles along the way. As we found out earlier this week, this partnership will be no more as American Airlines has chosen not to renew their agreement.

As the arena surely won’t go without a name for long, it was reported by Miami Today on September 10th that there is a “nationally renown company” in “advanced talks” to procure the naming rights and that they even “toured the site”. Although we don’t yet know exactly who the company is that Miami Today is reporting about, a quick new agreement should almost be expected with one company or another.

What wasn’t to be expected at all, is that among the bids of that “one company or another” for the naming rights to the Miami Heat home arena, would be an offer from one of the most unexpected bidders. Among the bids to take over the naming rights of the Former AAA is the adult entertainment company known as BangBros(no, we obviously did not link to their website).

Still standing? Hiding your device from your mom or significant other yet? If you don’t believe what you’re reading because we didn’t, here is the press release from the people themselves.

For the record, their planned abbreviation for the new name of the Miami Heat’s building would be a phenomenal toe-dip into risky but genius marketing. Look for it, we will not be notating said abbreviation here. Their offer is a self-reported $10 million dollar bid.

In case you were wondering, the Atlanta Hawks arena was renamed the State Farm Arena in 2018 in what was one of the most expensive naming rights deals in the history of the NBA. The deal was for 20 years at $175 million, or about $8.75 million per year. This was only after the Hawks arena was named Phillips Arena up until being changed, in an agreement that paid even more per year.

For more clarity, the Boston Celtics’TD Garden became known as such for a price between five and 6 million annually. The Barclays Center in Brooklyn originally got it’s name for a price of $400 million over 20 years, before eventually still going for a mega $200 million over 20 years or $10 million annually.

Basically, the offer from BangBros is pretty lofty and legit. The Miami Heat have a decision to make because this is obviously a real thing and they are apparently serious.

dark. Next. Miami Heat: American Airlines Arena to be renamed

As the old saying goes, money talks, while something else walks a mile. The ball is in your court Miami Heat. It would surely drive intellectual traffic, but not as much traffic as the latest bidders do.
