Miami Heat: Have to be up mighty early to get one over on Jimmy Butler

The Miami Heat are a team built on principle, work ethic, hard work, and determination. Jimmy Butler is put together the very same way.

The Miami Heat are known for many things. A great night out for opposing teams, a tough night on the court for those thinking that they are coming to South Beach for a walkover game, and a rock-solid demeanor and will known as Heat Culture.

While oftentimes players are acquired or signed and then welcomed into a culture, only hopefully to embrace it, make it their own, and live it, sometimes it doesn’t happen that way. While sometimes the results yield a total mismatch, where the player in question is incapable of buying into or making a certain culture their own, sometimes the player already embodies and exhibits characteristics and a lifestyle that resembles said culture.

That was the case between the Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler. A tough willed, hard-nosed, do it all type of player before ever landing with the Miami Heat, that was a huge part of what made him a perfect fit for the Heat Culture and an ideal member of this organization. While this type of character has been built over the course of his life, as he has always had to outwork others to achieve the things he has over his career, some of it on the professional level can also be directly traced to the influence Tom Thibodeau has had over him across their times spent together.

This character and these traits are apparent in almost everything about Butler. From the things he says to the things he does, it is obvious that he lives the hard-working and determined life he talks about. It is no more evident that in two of his most recent social media posts.

In the above post from Monday, September the 23rd, the caption reads “FOUR ANTE MERIDIEM”. By definition and according to Merriam-Webster, it means “being before noon”, whereas we simply know it as A.M. Basically, he was saying that he was up at 4 a.m. taking shots at the practice facility, but the fun didn’t stop there.

This was a post from Butler on the 24th of September. If you notice the time, it says 4:02 am. It looks like another early day for the Miami Heat superstar.

While we expect big things from Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat in this upcoming season, he is obviously putting in the work to see to it that those things actually come to fruition. This is a simple example and explanation as to why and how he embodies Heat Culture. Regardless of what you think, you’ll have to get up mighty early in the morning to get one over on one of the newest members of the Miami Heat.
