After months of waiting, the Miami Heat finally gave us the press conference we’ve all been waiting on. Here are three key takeaways from the presser.

After landing Jimmy Butler this summer, Miami Heat Faithful were in an uproar about the possibilities moving forward. We had landed a superstar and furthermore, one that embodied what it means to be a part of the Heat Culture.

As time passed after the signing occurred, we all wondered aloud about when the introductory press conference would occur. We wanted to know when, where, and for how long we would get to see and hear our newest addition talk about his experiences and decision.

Well, on Friday the 27th day of September in the year of our lord that is 2019, we finally got what we were asking for. Here are three key takeaways that stuck from Jimmy Butler’s official introductory press conference.

1. He loves and embraces being a part of the Culture

When you heard Jimmy talk about what it meant to be a member of the Miami Heat, you could feel the sincerity and authenticity in his voice. While good actors are capable of anything, he made you really feel as though he knew that this was the place for him. Here is a quote that helps sums up that notion via the official twitter account of the Miami Heat.

He spoke on how these feelings were stimulated and fertilized through his relationship with the legend himself, Dwyane Wade. He also spoke on how he wants to take that mantle and continue to represent what the Heat Culture means to the utmost, while also subtly shouting out the faithful.

2. He loves his teammates, their respective skills & abilities, and their work ethic

By now, everyone should be aware of Jimmy Butler’s infamously reported tirade against his teammates when he was still a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves. He made sure to say that he was not the “A*shole” that everyone thinks he is.

However, based on the way he talks about his new teammates, that side of Jimmy won’t show much for that particular reason. He talked of how he loves the way that his teammates operate and continue to work. Here is a quote on that matter.

He specifically named a few guys too. He talked about how he loves how his teammates such as Duncan Robinson, Justise Winslow, and Tyler Herro aren’t afraid of anything and that they don’t back down.

He mentioned how well of a shooter Robinson really is while complementing the toughness and personableness of Bam Adebayo. He mentioned how he thought Justise was extremely skilled, versatile, multiple, and tough. When speaking about one of the newest and youngest members of the team in Herro, here’s what he had to say.

3. He knows what it means to be a member of the Miami Heat and the community of Miami

One of the things that most stuck from the press conference was a notion that Butler made sure to clearly put forth. He is not Dwyane Wade, and he could never be him. He shouldn’t try to be though.

If he can just be the best version of himself, continue to work hard and as he put it, does “what Spo tells him to do”, he will be just fine. Another part of understanding his current standing in Miami is the fact that he seems to embrace not only being a part of the culture and the team, but he gets what it means to be a valuable and active part of the Miami community.

Life’s good right now if you’re a fan of the Miami Heat. Welcome back to basketball relevance people! It is a welcomed sight.

Next. Have to be up mighty early to get one over on Jimmy Butler. dark

To steal a bar or two from our guy Greg Sylvander of the Miami Heat Beat and the Five Reasons Sports Network, point and laugh at all those who tried to call our thing a “Marketing Ploy”. La Cosa Nostra officially is the respected proper name of the infamous Sicilian Mafiabut to us, it’s Heat Culture. Respect our house, because we will protect our house, and our nastiest soldier is called Jimmy Effin Butler!
