Former Miami Heat champion Shaq found himself in the midst of a rap beef with Portland’s “Dame D.O.L.L.A” Lillard. Here’s a synopsis.

Shaquille O’Neal or Shaq, a former NBA Champion with the Miami Heat, is a gargantuan of a human being, who also just so happens to have a similar-sized personality and ego. Damian Lillard is an assassin on the basketball court, who tends to let his game do the talking outside of the booth, especially considering his typically quiet demeanor. Well, that all started to change as we awoke from our slumbers on Tuesday morning.

For clarity and a bit of the backstory, on an appearance on Joe Budden’s Podcast, Dame Lillard basically made light of Shaq’s history and abilities as a rapper. He said that when people heard Shaq’s music, they didn’t take him seriously as an artist, they just took it simply as Shaq trying to make music.

The Diesel obviously was made aware of those comments, because that’s what started the back and forth of diss records. In case you are totally ignorant of culture in 2019, a diss record is simply a song that has content, lyrics, or a theme that is meant to explicitly insult, humiliate, or expose the subject, place, or thing that is being dissed or disrespected on said record. In any event, Shaq dropped his track on September 30th.

After hearing about Shaq’s escapade, Damian Lillard was quick to the rebuttal. Here is what Dame had to say after fans started to let him know about the track on twitter.

“Check back in the” morning they did sir. By noon on Tuesday, Dame’s response track was all over the place, and definitely trending on your friendly neighborhood social media platforms. Here is Lillard’s track.
