XIII. Point guard & sixth man scenarios, Former Players

The Miami Heat’s starting point guard scenario has been at the tips of Miami Heat fan’s tongues all throughout the off-season. While the majority of the fanbase seems to have grown fond of Justise Winslow manning the slot, the Miami Heat brass tends to believe that Goran Dragic will be the guy starting there for this Heat team.

While the point guard scenario is a conundrum all in itself, it directly correlates to the potential sixth man scenario for this team as well. Specifically, this means that if Goran Dragic isn’t ultimately tabbed to be the starting guy at the one position for the team, he should definitely be assigned directly to the position of the sixth man.

Dragic could be lethal and deadly off the bench for this Miami Heat team as their microwave or instant offense type of player. This would not only give the team something to count on, but it would also allow him to still play the game in that attack mode that he has been so successful in doing, while also giving Coach Spoelstra the benefit of having that veteran presence to count on when the starters are getting a break.

You also have the sticky little issue of former players. This includes things like what they said on their way out of the door, when they might return to face the Miami Heat, or simple reflections and appreciation of their time in Miami. Let’s get into it.
