XVI. Russell Westbrook & Carmelo Anthony scenario

The Miami Heat were right in the thick of the Russell Westbrook trade situation as well. While they didn’t ultimately land him, what matters is that they tried.

Not that one would ever think that Pat Riley wasn’t doing all he possibly could to try to win for this team, but it just goes a long way when you are able to see it playing out. Westbrook eventually landed in Houston with a former teammate and close friend, James Harden.

While they won’t have chemistry issues on the surface it seems, there may come a time when there is just not enough of the basketball to go around. Speaking of the Rockets, Carmelo Anthony has been a free agent since being released by Houston towards the beginning of last season.

After going on ESPN’s First Take to talk about the situation with Stephen A. Smith, it seems as though he has found a way to creep into the headlines quite a bit. With the Miami Heat needing scoring and shooting, the things that Melo does best, it was an easy suggestion to think that he might be worth a look.

Well, he still hasn’t been signed, by the Miami Heat or any other team for that matter. He should get a look somewhere though at some point this season.  Until then, let’s take a look at all things Russ and Melo.
