The Miami Heat’s Vice Jerseys have become a huge hit and staple over the past few seasons. Did Tyler Herro reveal the next phase of the colorway’s evolution?

The Miami Heat have been the standard-bearer over the past few seasons when it comes to jerseys. Their Vice jersey colorway has blown nearly all of the competition out of the water.

Inspired by the themes and color schemes of the 1980’s Miami scene and culture, with a few subtle hints and homages paid to the popular television series of the same name in Miami Vice, the hot pink and baby blue hues have set the jersey game on fire.

They started a few years ago with the original white Vice colorway, before then venturing into the dark side with the black version that they called the Vice Nights version. They then took it all the way last season, coming out with what is now called the Sunset Vice jersey, an all-pink Miami Heat jersey. Here are a few thoughts on that particular colorway from the Miami Heat organization, taken from a piece by ESPN‘s Zach Lowe.

"“We were very hesitant about going fully pink,” Maurer says. Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra — old-school souls who care deeply about the Heat’s culture, and how outsiders perceive it — have something approaching veto power on big artistic decisions. Would they go for a bright, screaming pink jersey — the only pink jersey in the NBA?“We don’t have free rein here,” McCullough says, laughing. “I get nervous every time I walk through the double doors into the basketball operations side” of the Heat’s office."

Well, the daring fashion statements won’t stop there. According to a video posted on the Miami Heat’s Tyler Herro‘s social media account, the latest colorway is almost ready to be unveiled. Here is a tweet from a Miami Heat Fan’s social media with a still shot of the video where the new colorway is spotted.

While the cool blue uniforms are a nice way to continue to play off of colors already instituted into the colorway, I am not a fan. Take this opinion with a grain of salt though, as it is more about the fact that blue is not my color than the jersey not being another solid addition to the family.

dark. Next. The conundrum that would be trading for Bradley Beal

While they are all really good looking jerseys, the ranking here would be Sunset, Vice Nights, Vice, and then this one if it is indeed the next in line. Either way, we can’t wait to see the Miami Heat in them, playing live, real, actual, meaningful basketball games. The season is only about a week away Miami Heat faithful, get excited!
