We’re preparing for the NBA season by scouting the divisional and conference opponents of the Miami Heat. Next up on the list are the Philadelphia 76ers

Much like the Miami Heat will be doing this season as they prepare for their opponents, we’re going to break down each divisional rival and conference opponent in regards to their offseason and their outlook for the 2019-20 season. As we move through the Eastern Conference, we now look at the Philadelphia 76ers.

Off-season Review

Everything that has transpired with the Philadelphia 76ers this off-season could have gone a lot different if it wasn’t for one playoff game. In case you were wondering, yes, we mean the game that resulted in Joel Embiid crying on his way to the locker room.

This was the game that made history. This was the game where we witnessed Kawhi Leonard making the game-winning buzzer-beater.

If it wasn’t for those lucky bounces that knocked the 76ers out of the playoffs, then we would be having a whole different conversation regarding their off-season. A different bounce would have equaled an entirely different outcome.

So, let’s get to it, what was their off-season like? To put it simply, they won the off-season.

The most significant move they made was shipping Jimmy Butler to the Miami Heat in exchange for Josh Richardson. Some fans may look at this trade and instantly think they lost it, but that isn’t necessarily the case.
