The Miami Heat are back at it Tuesday after finishing a road trip with a 1-2 record. Nothing like a home game against a conference foe to set you straight.
The Miami Heat had a very interesting last couple of days. They faced the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday, putting up a lackluster showing that eventually led to losing the game.
They then headed to Phoenix on Thursday, where they took it to another one of the hottest teams in the league to start the season. This was before heading to L.A. on the following night to face the Lakers on Friday.
They lost a slug-fest to the Lakers, not the knockout kind but the slow, slimy, sliding animal kind, that saw both teams struggle offensively. LeBron James was the feather that tipped the scales in favor of L.A. in that one.
Of course, there was also this little incident surrounding Dion Waiters that happened. The one where there was him, a “gummy” of some sort, and panic attacks.
Yea, that one. Either way, the Miami Heat have a game against a Pistons team on Tuesday that will definitely be looking for a win.
They will be on the second night of a back to back set, having dropped a game to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday. They got Blake Griffin back into the lineup on Monday after he missed the first 10 games of the season due to injury, although it is a situation worth monitoring in this current load management culture, with him just coming back, and with this being the immediate day after his first game of the season.
The Miami Heat will also be without Justise Winslow for the third game in a row after he was placed in concussion protocol. The concussion situation stems from a head-on collision that Winslow had with Paul Millsap during last Tuesday’s game against the Nuggets.
Both teams will be looking to get a win after dropping their previous games. This will also be each of the teams’ first chance to exert dominance over one another this season, setting the tone for future matchups. Here is what else you need to know about this game.
UPDATE: Derrick Rose and Blake Griffin will be held out of Tuesday’s game.
