The Miami Heat stayed undefeated at home on Wednesday night after beating the Cavaliers. The story though is the player of the game, one Duncan Robinson.
The Miami Heat entered Wednesday night’s game with a somewhat familiar sense of the opponent they’d be facing. They would be up against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the same team that they had defeated handily at their place in Cleveland on last Thursday, to a tune of 108-97.
Even still though, the Miami Heat would not take them lightly. Riding high on an undefeated home record, the Miami Heat came out and jumped on the Cavaliers early.
After they jumped on the Cleveland Cavaliers, they didn’t get off. They ended up blowing the Cavaliers out of the building, with a final score of 124-100.
The Miami Heat were extremely impressive as a unit though in this game. They set a season-high of 75 points scored in the first half, while also setting a new season-high for three-pointers made in a game with 19. The biggest story of the game though was the game’s MVP, Mr. Duncan Robinson.
Player Of The Game-Duncan Robinson
Duncan Robinson was on fire Wednesday night. He was 8-10 in the first half from deep. To put that into perspective, the Miami Heat record is 10 threes made in a game, held by both Mario Chalmers and Brian Shaw, while the NBA record for a game is held by Klay Thompson at 14.

While Duncan almost accomplished that feat in one half of play on Wednesday night, he was unable to fully get the job done on either the Miami Heat record or the NBA record. Regardless of any of that though, it was still an awfully impressive game for the second-year pro.
He shot his way to a career night from behind the arc and in the box score, making a career-high nine triples and scoring a career-high 29 points. Robinson has played so well of late in his starting role that it has some wondering whether he should remain the starter even and once Justise Winslow returns(story drops on Thursday and was written prior to this game’s outburst might I add)?
In any event, this was an awesome game for Robinson and another awesome showing from the Miami Heat. The Heat get a day off for rest before heading to Chicago on Friday for what will be the first game of a two-game back to back road trip that closes on Saturday against the 76ers in Philadelphia.
That last one should be a doozy and we can’t wait to see it, but the Heat can’t let their guard down against a young Bulls team either. They should be alright though on Friday, while Saturday will surely test the fortitude of this Miami Heat team.
