The Miami Heat have been the reigning kings of NBA jerseys over the past few years with their “Vice” theme. Well, they’ve done it again in South Beach.
The Miami Heat are and have been the reigning champions when it comes to the preeminent NBA jersey over the past few seasons. From the pure elegance of the all-white and original Vice jersey to the sleek yet mysterious approach on the Vice Nights all-black version, all the way back around to the flamboyant beauty of the Sunset Vice all-pink, the Miami Heat know how to get the job done in the alternate City Edition jersey race.
This is especially the case when you consider some of the other attempts made this year by other teams around the league. The Detroit Pistons, for example, have rolled out some blaze and blue combination. It takes those colors and lays the word stylings of last season’s all-black Motor City version across them, for what has since been deemed an unpleasant sight by those in the fanbase.
There have been other attempts made around the league that aren’t so bad though if you ask me. One of my favorites so far has been the Dallas Mavericks’. Although similar to something right out of The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, it also pays homage to the apparently vibrant street art and graffiti scene associated with the Dallas, Texas area.
Not bad, right? Well, either way, none of them can’t hold a spray can(see what we did there?) to what the Miami Heat have going on down on the Bay. They unveiled the latest iteration of the Vice colorway on Monday, the Vice Wave jersey.
This is almost the perfect picture. Justise Winslow, in the newest edition to the most perfect jersey colorway ever created and assembled, is as close to perfection as you can get.
Some will call us biased, but that is a biased opinion. Take a survey of any set of fans in any city on which franchise has the best City Edition uniforms, they’ll tell you. The Miami Heat just knows how to get these things right.
