The Miami Heat needed to redeem themselves after Wednesday night’s game in Houston. They would do just that in a game against Golden State in Miami.

The Miami Heat were beaten pretty handily in Houston on Wednesday. They were outmanned and outgunned, to say the least.

While they were still shorthanded, missing Jimmy Butler along with a few others like Derrick Jones Jr., Dion Waiters, and KZ Okpala who have all been out for some time, the Miami Heat did get Justise Winslow back from concussion-related issues. Although he played a healthy dose of minutes in his return to action, he was not his usual sharp self.

Needless to say, the Miami Heat were very unimpressive in that game, although not as bad as they were against Philadelphia. After losing the game on Wednesday however, they had to be eager to not only get Jimmy Butler back on the floor, but also to get back on to the floor period. The Golden State Warrior team would provide just the opportunity.

The game started out just how you would like it to have gone if you’re a Miami Heat fan, a 12-2 run for the Heat, a run that got up to at least 21-6 to open the game. While the Heat lead would teeter anywhere from 16 to 10 or so points, the game was never really a close one.

The Miami Heat ultimately got their much-needed victory, winning the game 122-105, but it was the details that surrounded this win and most of their others that are important. The Miami Heat led the Warriors in rebounding by a tally of 48 to 30. According to the Miami Heat broadcast, this win made the Heat 11-0 when they win the rebounding battle.

When you have a team that appears to be as good as the Miami Heat can be this year, they must do a  good job at winning the games they are supposed to win or beating the bad teams in the league whenever they play them. The Heat are also taking care of business in that department as well, having a record of 7-0 when facing teams with a record below .500.

The last interesting detail that comes as a result of this win is that while the Golden State Warriors have wrecked the league over the past few seasons, this is actually the Heat’s third win in the last four trips that the Warriors have made to South Beach.

While every game won’t be this lopsided, a win is a win. The Miami Heat are back on the floor on Sunday for a midday road matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. Although they will be without Kyrie Irving, as it has already been reported, the Heat will need to bring their best to get a victory there.
