The Miami Heat look to successfully complete the next leg of their road trip Tuesday in Toronto. Winning there would send shockwaves through the league.
The Miami Heat are currently in the midst of a three-game road trip that technically amounts to what most would call their first big test stretch of the season. Basically, every NBA season is filled with many road trips and/or home stretches that are good barometers, earmarks, and or narrative builders for each and every NBA team. This is one of those instances for the Miami Heat.
After coming through in the clutch to snatch a tough road victory from up under the grips of the feisty Brooklyn Nets on Sunday afternoon, the Heat can double down on that bravado by attempting to go in and do the same to a surprisingly splendid Toronto Raptors team. Like the Miami Heat, the Toronto Raptors boast an undefeated home record, to a tune of a flawless 9-0 in Toronto.
To go back a bit, this Raptors team is surprisingly good for a few reasons. They have been without Kyle Lowry for a few weeks with a thumb injury, although his return is imminent according to reports. You also have to consider the fact that they lost a top-three player in the league right now in Kawhi Leonard after winning the Larry O’Brien Trophy last season.
While this will be a tough matchup for the Miami Heat, it should also be a good game between two very similarly tough teams. Something else to watch for should be the game inside the game.
The matchup between Pascal Siakam and Bam Adebayo will be one to keep an eye on. Last year’s and the reigning NBA Most Improved Player, up against a player that has a great chance to win the award this year, while both have received attention for being considered amongst the candidates for the Most Valuable Player award as well.
One huge negative for the Heat already though is that it is already being reported that Goran Dragic will miss tomorrow’s game. With the way he has performed for Miami off the bench and in big moments this season, that is a tough blow to deal with when going in to face a team like the Raptors. Here is everything else you need to know about the game though.
