Duncan Robinson starts hot for the Miami Heat against the Atlanta Hawks on Star Wars Night at American Airlines Arena with a block and some blistering shooting in the first quarter.

The Miami Heat have proven to be hard to beat on South Beach, and they will probably prove to be next to impossible to beat at home when Duncan Robinson is shooting the lights out. Thanks to an outrageous scoring burst of 14 points in the first five minutes and change of the first quarter against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night, the Heat took a 36-30 lead into the second quarter.

Robinson shot 5-of-7 from the field and 4-of-6 from 3-point range to fill the score sheet in the first quarter, grabbed a rebound, and he raced back in transition to reject Cam Reddish‘s dunk attempt at the rim for good measure.

The Heat have been devastating at home in first quarters, outscoring their opponents by 28.7 points per 100 possession in opening periods at American Airlines Arena, a rate which is second-best in the NBA behind only the Milwaukee Bucks. They enter this game with a 10-0 record at home, and we’ll see if the hometown team can defend their court against the young and struggling Atlanta Hawks and their own rising star Trae Young.
