In our ongoing Miami Heat Hot Topics series, we’ll take a look at the exceptionally busy and eventful week that was here at All U Can Heat.

In today’s edition of Miami Heat Hot Topics, we’ll catch up on the stories we’ve written so far this past week here at All U Can Heat. Among our topics, we covered the embattled Dion Waiters‘ continuing suspension saga, and we launched into the beginning stages of trade season with some varied takes. We also took a look at how Jimmy Butler has made the Miami Heat fun again.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at the week that was.

What should the Heat do after suspending Dion Waiters again?

The Heat suspended Waiters for the third time this season. They have options on how to proceed, but while moving him and paying him as little as possible is the ultimate goal, none of those options are ultimately appealing.

Kendrick Nunn is the answer to biggest trade season question:

It’s safe to say that Kendrick Nunn‘s emergence as major contributor in the starting lineup is one of the biggest reasons the Miami Heat are one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. He is likely to be one of the biggest storylines as the season goes on, but will that be a result of his continued play or his inclusion in a big trade?

Why the Heat should avoid making a trade for Jrue Holiday:

As we enter trade season, we’re going to see no shortage of trade ideas. One such idea floated by The Ringer was a trade for the Miami Heat involving Jrue Holiday of the New Orleans Pelicans. Holiday would be an upgrade at point guard, but the high price of this trade idea makes it a bitter pill to swallow. It’s even more problematic because Holiday’s large contract could derail plans for the summer of 2021. Check out our analysis and let us know on Twitter @AllUCanHeat1 if you agree or disagree.

Jimmy Butler taking the Heat from gritty to enjoyable:

The Heat haven’t been much fun to watch since the days of LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. They’ve been tough and won more than their fair share over that stretch, but fun? No, not really. That’s changed in a big way thanks to the addition of Jimmy Butler. Not only a star on the court for the Miami Heat, Butler has been tremendous off the court as well with his teammates. The fun is back on South Beach, and Jimmy Butler is a big reason for that.
