Miami Heat legend Chris Bosh has been nominated for induction in the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020, along with a stacked class for consideration.

A Miami Heat legend and champion appears to be on the verge of being honored justly. Chris Bosh has been nominated for induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020 along with a stacked class including Ben Wallace, Chauncey Billups, Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett.

As the South Florida Sun Sentinel’s Ira Winderman states, we won’t have long to wait until we learn how Bosh fares in his first time on the ballot. After all, February isn’t that far away.

Bosh had a spectacular tenure in Miami alongside LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Ray Allen and a host of talented and vital role players. He won two championships in Miami to go along with his long list of accolades.

He was an 11-time All Star, made an All-NBA Second Team, was All-Rookie First Team and represented the United States in international competition multiple times.

Chris Bosh was a key element in the adoption of small ball which Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra implemented, and as a result had a major impact on the way the game of basketball is played today.

Bosh had a 13-year career split between the Heat and the Toronto Raptors, who drafted him in 2003 with the fourth pick of the NBA draft, right behind James and Wade (and Darko Milicic). His career was cut short in 2015-16 with deep vein thrombosis (also known a pulmonary embolism).

Over the course of his career he averaged 19.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2 assists per game. He averaged very close to his career numbers in his  final season which just demonstrates that he could have played years longer if not for his DVT.

Chris Bosh was acclaimed for being willing to take a lower billing with the Miami Heat in order to win championships. He could have made more money with the Raptors and put up whatever numbers he wanted, but he set that aside to come to South Beach and form the closest thing to a dynasty that the first half of the decade had in the NBA.
