The Miami Heat head back to their home building on Friday for a meeting with the New York Knickerbockers. They shouldn’t and won’t take them lightly.

The Miami Heat are coming off arguably their best win of the season, although there is an argument that can be made that it is only a top-three win for this Heat team all year. Although very early in the season and at home, this Miami Heat team did knock off the Houston Rockets, while they also went into Milwaukee to knock off the Bucks one early NBA season Saturday evening. In any event, this was without a doubt one of the Miami Heat’s more impressing wins of the season.

It was impressive for a few reasons but for two reasons more than any others. The Miami Heat went down big early again in this matchup with the 76ers, but not only did they come back, but they went on to eventually win the game in their building.

The second reason is because of how lopsided the first meeting was. The Heat could have folded and tucked their tails after going down big early, but they didn’t, eventually fighting to get the win. A win of that magnitude usually can lead to a letdown game though, but I doubt the Heat let themselves do that on Friday and here’s why.

The first reason is that they just recently were defeated by a Memphis Grizzlies team that had no business even being in the game, nevertheless coming away victorious. The Miami Heat surely won’t lose another game that they are supposed to win, which are all games for good teams against below .500 teams.

The second reason is a lot less practical, but a lot more sentimental and personal. The New York Knicks just recently unjustly fired former Miami Heat assistant coach David Fizdale. Coach Fiz is a Heat favorite and those in the building are well aware of the current events I am sure.

The Heat want to come out and win the game regardless, but the Fiz being fired factor makes it especially necessary to show the Knicks what a real franchise looks like. Here is everything else you need to know about the game.
